About

Hi! Thanks for visiting my page and reading along. My name is Felicia Cortez and welcome to my blog!

A few things: I am a Christian so my faith is important and I do talk about God because He is amazing and I’ve seen how life is with and without Him and I can’t thank Him enough for my blessings.

I am a proud wife to a coach. A  high school coach. A Texas football and baseball high school coach. Feel me on this yet? If you’re not familiar with a coach’s schedule, basically I see my husband for a few weeks spanning over December/January then see him from the middle of June to the first of August. But I’m so proud of him and the work he does and the pride he has for his boys.

I am a mommy. This by far my greatest accomplishment. I will cry just typing this because I love my daughter so much. I never knew a love like this and now I can’t imagine not having this love in my life. She is an exact copy of her daddy in the looks but has her mommy’s personality so we are in for it! My first child should not go unmentioned, I am also the proud puppy mommy to a 5 year old Morkie. Bella Boo was my saving grace at a rough time in my  life and she is my joy.

My career has spanned in different directions but ties together in a way only explained by that God’s plans are greater than mine.

I have a broadcast journalism degree, was an on-air television reporter, then reported on a story on domestic violence and realized what I had gone through for 7 years was not ok and that I had been a victim of DV. This discovery lead me to counseling then sharing my story of survival to working as a Domestic Violence Advocate in a non-profit. I have worked in non-profit for almost a decade but recently have felt God calling me to something new, something different, something I’m completely scared of but feel His calling so strong it can’t be ignored.

And that leads me here…sharing my story with you. My story of something new coming to my life, something I never knew I would be called to do, something I fear because I know the impact it has on others, something beautiful because I feel it’s part of His plan and although I’m scared, His plans are greater than mine and I have to trust in Him and have faith.
